Karmik
HR software for 3Sry Enterprise customers

Take people on within the law

Karmik takes each new starter through the checks the law asks of you. It checks their right to work and screens them against the official sanctions lists. It drafts their contract from your own template and checks it. It checks their pay against the legal minimum. It matches the payroll you already run to your records. You make every decision that matters.

Not on sale yet. Karmik is software. You install it on your own computer and run it yourself. Nobody at Polyglyph Analytica sees your employees' details, does the HR work for you or gives you legal or HR advice. Karmik works only where it has the employment law of the place. It has it for a company in the UK, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United States. That law is still a draft. So every figure Karmik gives you, such as the minimum wage, holiday or notice, is a provisional calculation. Each one shows the official sources it came from. You confirm you've read the notice before you apply pay or sign a contract. Anywhere else, Karmik sets nothing up.

How it works

From a new starter to their first payslip.

1

They give their own details

You add a starter and get a one-time link to their own page. They fill in their own details there and add their documents. The link works once, and it runs out after seven days. On a licensed copy, they can open it on their phone. What they send is sealed with their link, so nothing on the way can read it. After 5 wrong tries the link stops working, and you're told. You can also type their details in together. Their date of birth, address and bank details are kept apart, locked with a key of their own.

2

Right to work and screening

Anika (Agent, People) takes in their documents. Jonas (Agent, People) checks them against the list the law gives for where they will work. Selin (Agent, People) screens their name against the official sanctions lists you added. Farouk (Agent, People) checks both. You confirm.

3

Pay and contract

You propose their pay. Rohan (Agent, People) checks it against the legal minimum for their age. Tobias (Agent, People) drafts the contract from your own template. Amara (Agent, People) checks that every term the law says they must be given is in it. You sign.

4

Payroll you can see

Karmik doesn't run payroll. You add each run your payroll gives you. Ilan (Agent, People) matches it to your records, and Mateo (Agent, People) checks him. You give each payslip to the person it's for, and Karmik records that you did.

What you get

Everything runs on your computer, and the dashboard opens in your browser.

The law, not a guess

What counts as proof of a right to work, which lists to screen against, the terms a contract must give and the minimum wage all come from a rule pack for the place. Each figure there names the official page it came from.

Checked before anyone acts

Before any agent does a piece of work, Karmik checks that the law it uses is the version in force on the day that matters. If it isn't, the work stops and you're told why.

Two agents on every step

One agent does each step and a different one checks it. No agent checks its own work.

Asked again when the law changes

Once a day, Sunita (Agent, People) asks whether a new rule changes a contract in force or someone's pay. She also flags a right-to-work follow-up that's coming up. Each one becomes a task for you, once.

Every file checked first

Each file is checked before anything reads it: a passport scan, a payroll run, a sanctions list. A file that fails is kept aside where nothing opens it. This is a check for active content, not an antivirus.

A record you can check

Every change is written to a signed record on your computer. So is every time someone looks at an employee's own details. The record is stamped with public timestamps, so a change made later would show.

You decide what matters

These are always yours. You can't hand them to an agent.

  • Making an offer.
  • Signing a contract.
  • Changing someone's pay.
  • Ending someone's employment.
  • Confirming someone's right to work.
  • Deciding whether a name that came close on a sanctions list is really them.
  • Issuing a P45 or a P11D.

You can let Ilan (Agent, People) record payslips and P60s that Mateo (Agent, People) has checked as issued. Karmik sends none of them: you give each one to its person. You set a limit and an end date, and you can stop it at any time.

What it doesn't do

We'd rather you knew this before you buy.

  • It works only for a company in the UK, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or the United States. The law it uses there is still a draft, so every figure it gives you is a provisional calculation.
  • It doesn't run payroll, work out tax or file anything with a tax authority. Your payroll does that.
  • It's software that you install and run on your own computer. Nobody at Polyglyph Analytica sees your employees' details, does the HR work for you or gives you legal or HR advice.
  • It doesn't give legal advice. A contract is a draft from your template, for you to sign.
  • It doesn't fetch the sanctions lists. You download each one from its publisher and add it. A list more than seven days old can't clear anyone.
  • Screening compares names written in the Latin alphabet. It can't promise to catch everyone, and it would rather ask you about a stranger than miss a listed person.
  • It reads one plain payroll file layout for now. It doesn't connect to your payroll software.
  • It's for one business, on one computer, for one person at a time.

Where your data is kept

Your records are kept in a Karmik folder on your computer.

  • Each employee's own details are locked with a key of their own. Your computer's keychain holds the key, where it has one.
  • An agent sees only what its job needs. A pay check sees pay. A contract check never sees someone's screening.
  • Nothing about an employee is uploaded to us. Other products on your computer are told only a reference and totals, never a name or one person's pay.
  • The checking is done by your own Claude, on your own Claude account.
  • Our servers get a daily licence check-in (a licence ID, an installation ID, and whether your copy has been changed, never what was changed), and your update downloads.

What you need

  • Claude Code, signed in to a Claude subscription that includes it.
  • Node.js 20 or newer.
  • macOS, Windows or Linux.
  • A company in the UK, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or the United States.

Your employees' data. Your employees' details are yours to look after. Karmik keeps them on your computer, and your Claude reads what each agent's job needs. Tell your employees how you handle their details, as you would with any HR tool.

Why it is built this way

  1. 1Your data stays on your computer

Karmik runs on your own computer. Your own Claude subscription does the thinking. You don't upload your data to another cloud service. Our servers never see your data. They hold only your licence.

  2. 2Get more from your Claude subscription

Karmik runs on your Claude subscription. You can use the same Claude for other work in your business too.

You need a Claude subscription that includes Claude Code. Claude is made by Anthropic. Polyglyph Analytica is independent of Anthropic.
